Shining Stars Child Care Center - Little Stars Nursery School - Pre Kindergarten - Before School - After School - Day Care - Infant Care - School Age Summer Camps

Shining Stars infant program provides care for children 6 weeks to 18 months of age.

The primary objective of the program is to provide a safe, healthy, and stimulating environment that will encourage your infant's physical and emotional development.

The program incorporates language skills, gross motor skills and music. Shining Stars encourages discovery, exploration and fun. The infant room will provide an atmosphere of warmth, security and acceptance of each child's own individual needs.

Children will be supervised at a ratio of 4 infants to one adult. The child's routine will be established by their primary caregiver and parent. Please feel free to communicate your child's special needs or your concerns to his or her caregiver. Shining Stars staff are instructed in proper procedures for hand washing, diapering, sanitization and first aid.

Staff is also instructed in infant/child development and developmentally appropriate activities. Toys and games that are provided are all age appropriate.

Until your child is eating table food, parents must provide daily baby food, formula and/or breast milk labeled with the child's name and date.

Please provide the following items for your child's use. Please make sure all belongings are clearly labeled with their name.

* Minimum of 6 diapers (disposable).
* 2 plastic bibs.
* 2 complete changes of clothes.
* 2 crib sheets.
* Blanket.
* Port-a-crib - used exclusively for your child.

**Note: There will be a $1.00 charge for each diaper Shining Stars supplies.

Children will be taken outside daily for fresh air and sunshine (weather permitting). Infants will be seperate from older children. Please provide appropriate outdoor clothing daily.

Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christma/Hanukkah, Valentines Day, Easter and July 4th will be celebrated with special parties. You may celebrate your child's birthday with his/her friends. Please let the supervisor know of your plans.

A small sleeping toy may be brought from home and kept in your child's crib (labeled, please). For health and sanitation reasons, please do not bring any other toys from home.

Books will be selected by our staff from our local library and from our own collection. Stories will be read daily.
