Dear Parents,
October is here and with it comes all the excitement that goes along with Halloween. In nurser school we’ll be talking about Fall colors, leaves, weather changes, and fire safety. We’ll also be singing fall and Halloween songs.
Our Halloween parties will be Thursday, October 29th for the T, Th, class and Friday, October 30th for the MWF classes. There are sign up sheets on the bulletin board (by the steps) for parties. On your child’s Halloween party day, please have your child come to school dresses in his/her costume. Please send a bag with your child’s name on it that we can put the costume in and then take it with you when the parade is over. You are welcome to stay for our parade on party day. We will have the parade about 9:20 for A.M. classes and 12:20 for the P.M. class. The parade only takes about 15 minutes. Please plan to stay and help your child change out of their costume and then take it with you when the parade is over. There will be normal dismissal times for party days. Two parents stay to help with each party during our school year. We try to have parents take turns, so that all parents who wish to participate may do so.
The sign up sheet is also posted for parent readers for the month of October. The parent reading program is designed to encourage parents to come into the classroom on Thursday and Friday to read at story time to their child’s class. Books that are favorites of your own child’s are often good choices for story time. Please plan to read about 5 to 10 minutes. Please bring your own book. Grandmas and Grandpas are welcome to come read to our children on these days.
“Show and Tell” will only be on Monday for the M,W, and F classes starting in October. Tue., Thurs., classes will continue Show and Tell with the boys brining on Tuesday and girls bringing on Thursday.
If you are interested in helping in our room if Mrs. Otero or Mrs. Morgan is absent, please let us know. We are starting a list of parents who are willing to help.
