Director of Little Stars Nursery School
Mrs. Gloria Morgan is the director of Little Stars Nursery School. She has resided in Mountain Top for 16 years. She and her family moved to this area in January of 1992. They have three daughters, ages 30, 28, and 24. Mrs. Morgan and family are originally from Pittsburgh, PA and had been living in Meadville, PA for nine years prior to moving to our area.
Mrs. Morgan graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a dual degree in elementary education and special education. She also has a Masters Degree in mental retardation from Duquesne University. This degree was attained after successfully competing for a PA State Fellowship. She also is certified in Early Childhood Education, which she taught for three years before moving to Mountaintop.
She also has 6 years of teaching experience with mentally challenged children and 2 years of nursery school substitute work.
In addition to her professional experience, Mrs. Morgan has worked with children of all ages in many different capacities. She has experience teaching Junior High Sunday School and Bible School; has been a playground supervisor, an elementary school volunteer, a youth group counselor and a high school band chaperone; and most important of all ? a Mother.
Mrs. Morgan was the chaperone chairman for the Crestwood H.S. School Band, where she was an active volunteer on several committees. She has co-chaired the Crestwood Jazz Festival, which promotes excellence in high school jazz ensembles and encourages young musicians in the Wilkes-Barre and surrounding areas to participate in jazz competitions for awards and scholarships. She also was an active basketball Mom and chauffer.
Mrs. Morgan is an avid animal lover. Her household contains a twelve-year-old-puppy, Maddie, and five outside rescued wild cats.
